System Engineer

At Elbit Systems Rehovot (Elop), we are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a strategic and groundbreaking defense project - one of the most advanced systems in its field globally. This role combines broad systems perspective with deep technical expertise, spanning from requirements definition and operational conception, through design guidance, to integration and testing.

This position is suitable for candidates with a background in either software

and functional requirements or electronics and computing – experience in both is not required.

In this role you will:

Lead the definition of system requirements and functional requirements specification (FRS)

Define system architecture, operational modes, interfaces, and system behavior

Guide hardware and/or software design from the concept phase through implementation and integration

Collaborate continuously with hardware, electronics, software, algorithms, control, optics, safety, and integration teams

Manage interfaces, identify system gaps, and lead the closure of engineering deliverables

Prepare and lead engineering reviews (SDR/PDR/CDR)

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Systems / Computer Science or equivalent)

Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering on complex, multidisciplinary development projects

Experience writing requirements, FRS, ICD, MIP, and similar documentation

Understanding of hardware/electronics design and/or software development processes, system integration and testing (no need for experience in both fields)

Ability to work across multiple interfaces, broad systems perspective, and strong technical writing skills in Hebrew and English

Experience with electro-optical systems, real-time systems, in the defense or civilian industry - advantage

Experience leading development of computing units with CPU/FPGA/MPSoC/GPU, video processing, and interface management - advantage

Experience with requirements management tools - advantage

Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer or Chief Architect on complex system development - advantage

Experience working with AI tools to support systems engineering processes - advantage
