Job Summary
The Unified Communications Engineering team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about building scalable software solutions, data platforms, and automation frameworks that enable business insights and operational efficiency. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software components that power data ingestion, processing, storage, and reporting systems across the Unified Communications ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in software engineering with experience developing APIs, building data pipelines, working with distributed processing technologies such as Spark, and integrating with databases and observability platforms. You will collaborate with Product Engineers, Business stakeholders, Data Scientists, and other development teams to design and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services that support Unified Communications platforms and business operations.

Build and enhance data ingestion and processing pipelines using technologies such as Python, Kafka, Vector, RabbitMQ, Spark, or similar frameworks.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that enable access to business and operational data.

Design and implement scalable and fault-tolerant solutions for data processing, storage, and retrieval using relational and NoSQL databases.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and software release activities to maintain high engineering standards and code quality.

Develop solutions leveraging technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, MariaDB, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar distributed systems.

Implement monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities using tools such as Grafana, ELK, Splunk, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus.

Troubleshoot application , pipeline , and database issues, and participate in root cause analysis to improve platform reliability.

Optimize application performance, database queries, and data processing workloads to improve efficiency and scalability.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.

Respond to production issues and customer concerns in a timely and efficient manner.

Follow software development best practices, including version control, CI/CD, security standards, and documentation.
Skillsets:
-
Strong experience in Python programming especially Pandas & numpy .

A very good understanding of the concepts like aggregation, filtering, parsing, and alerting.

Experience with Observability tool s like Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Logstash/Vector/ fluentd etc.

Experience with building data pipelines and experience with ETL tools like airflow is preferred .

Excellent SQL skills are required .

Creative in visualization or creating Dashboards using Tableau, Kibana or Grafana.

Strong fundamentals and experience in Data analytics using python.

Unix/Linux basics & Shell Scripting .

Good to have knowledge of Kafka and integration with logging/observability pipelines

Exposure to java script and ability to build custom charts using D3.js or any other j ava script libraries is preferred.

Knowledge and experience in Spark/Databricks is preferred.

Good knowledge of git
Responsibilities:
- Writing and maintaining efficient code for software components, adhering to best practices in development
- Supporting the design and development of new software applications aligned with business objectives
- Implementing testing frameworks for software validation, including unit and integration tests, to ensure quality
- Documenting the software development process, including design and deployment procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing
- Analyzing software integration needs and planning system architecture to meet technical specifications
- Reviewing current practices and technical literature to inform project solutions and applying engineering methodologies
- Working with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet technical requirements and fit specifications
- Troubleshooting software issues, providing resolutions to enhance application performance and user satisfaction
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
