Job Overview

Job Summary:**

The Structure Superintendent will lead and oversee all structural construction activities for heavy civil projects in Louisiana, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves direct supervision of field personnel and coordination with project management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise all on-site structural construction activities, including concrete pouring, formwork erection, rebar installation, pile driving, and structural steel assembly.
• Develop and implement project schedules for structural components, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
• Monitor daily progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local and federal safety regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings to ensure accurate execution of structural designs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Manage and direct field personnel, including foremen, carpenters, laborers, and equipment operators, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all structural work meets project specifications and industry standards.
• Prepare daily reports, progress reports, and other necessary documentation.
• Identify and implement efficient construction methods and technologies to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve structural field issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of company equipment and tools used for structural work.

Job Qualifications:**

• Minimum of 5 -10 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction.
• Proven experience with bridge construction, foundations, retaining walls, and other complex civil structures.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, safety regulations, and quality control procedures related to structural work.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites across Louisiana.
