Design Engineer

You’ll join our growing Telecoms team, playing a key role in the design and delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects. Working closely with our clients, operators and delivery teams, you’ll help develop practical, high-quality designs from initial concept through to construction.

Duties include:

• Preparing telecommunications network designs in line with operator specifications, client requirements and industry standards.

• Producing Planning, Construction and As-Built drawings using 2D CAD software.

• Designing telecoms infrastructure including fibre routes, duct routes, chambers, cabinets and associated infrastructure.

• Reviewing survey information and site data to produce accurate and practical designs.

• Identifying design constraints and making recommendations for further investigation works.

• Liaising with clients, operators, surveyors, planners and construction teams to resolve design queries and support project delivery.

• Reviewing and updating designs to reflect site conditions, client requirements and construction changes.

• Ensuring all drawings and design documentation are accurate, compliant and issued within agreed timescales.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar Telecommunications / Telecoms Design role is essential.

• 3+ years’ experience using CAD software, preferably within telecoms or engineering.

• Relevant qualification in Design, Engineering, Telecommunications or a related discipline.

• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

• Understanding of telecoms infrastructure and network design principles.

• Ability to interpret survey information, technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong attention to detail with good organisational and documentation skills.

• Good communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams, clients and contractors.
