Job description
Seeking a results-oriented Generators Sales Engineer to join its Sales & Business Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales of generator sets and related power-generation solutions, developing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and providing appropriate technical solutions based on customer requirements.
The role requires a combination of technical knowledge of generators and power systems, consultative selling, business development, and strong customer relationship management skills.
Responsibilities

Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve assigned sales targets for generators and related power solutions.

Identify and develop new customers and business opportunities across industrial, commercial, construction, mining, agriculture, telecommunications, hospitality, and other relevant sectors.

Conduct regular customer visits to understand power requirements and identify potential sales opportunities.

Prepare and present technical and commercial quotations, proposals, and product presentations.

Follow up on quotations, tenders, negotiations, and sales opportunities to convert prospects into customers.

Maintain and continuously develop a healthy sales pipeline.

Conduct market research and monitor competitors, pricing, customer demand, and industry trends.

Participate in exhibitions, customer events, site visits, and other business development activities.

Understand customers' power requirements and recommend suitable generator capacities and configurations.

Assess customer requirements including standby, prime, or continuous power applications.

Work with technical/service teams to ensure the proposed generator solution meets customer specifications.

Support customers with technical information regarding generator capacity, fuel consumption, operating requirements, maintenance, and applications.

Interpret technical specifications, drawings, tender documents, and customer requirements.

Conduct or coordinate site assessments where required to determine appropriate generator solutions.

Ensure that proposed solutions are technically and commercially viable.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.

Act as the primary commercial contact for assigned generator customers.

Understand customer needs and provide timely responses to technical and commercial enquiries.

Coordinate with service and technical teams to address customer concerns and after-sales requirements.

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, opportunities, and sales activities.

Monitor and identify relevant tenders and requests for quotations involving generators and power-generation solutions.

Prepare technical and commercial inputs for tenders and quotations.

Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing, specifications, delivery timelines, and technical documentation.

Participate in negotiations with customers while maintaining company pricing and commercial policies.

Follow up on purchase orders and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure smooth order execution.

Maintain customer relationships after the sale and identify opportunities for repeat business.

Coordinate with service technicians regarding installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and warranty matters.

Identify opportunities for generator servicing, spare parts, maintenance contracts, and other after-sales services.

Ensure customer feedback is communicated to the relevant internal teams
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.

At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in generator sales, power-generation equipment, industrial equipment, or a related technical sales environment.

Demonstrated experience in selling generators, power-generation systems, or similar industrial equipment.

Strong understanding of generator sets and basic electrical/mechanical power-generation principles.

Experience in technical sales, solution selling, tendering, and preparation of commercial quotations.

Experience working with or selling brands such as Delta, Kamaka, APM, Veta, or other established generator/power-generation brands will be an added advantage
