Director, Finance Technology & Systems – Accounting and External Reporting

The Opportunity

As  Director, Finance Technology & Systems , you'll lead the technology strategy, systems architecture, and digital transformation of our global tax, accounting and external reporting functions. You'll translate complex business requirements into scalable, high-value technology solutions — and you'll be the person our senior finance leaders turn to when they want to understand what's possible.

You'll own a portfolio of critical finance systems including SAP S/4HANA, Blackline, One Source, Workiva, GLSU, SAP CLM, Tableau, Alteryx, and Microsoft Power Platform, and you'll lead a high-performing team of technical specialists who are as passionate about innovation as you are.

What You'll Do

Technology Strategy & Systems Architecture

• Define and execute the technology transformation roadmap for the function, bringing external perspectives on leading-edge solutions and emerging technologies

• Own all applications end-to-end — ensuring every solution is robust, strategically aligned, cost-effective, and built to last

• Lead architecture design and implementation across multiple solutions including SAP S/4HANA, Blackline, One Source, GLSU, SAP CLM, Tableau, Alteryx, and Microsoft Power Platform and support on consolidations with HFM

• Partner with Enterprise and Solution Architects to shape application architecture and coordinate with Platform Teams on product delivery requirements

• Proactively identify and implement technology solutions — including automation and digitalization — that make processes faster, smarter, and more effective

Systems Implementation & Technical Delivery

• Lead large-scale finance application implementations and upgrades with full lifecycle ownership — from blueprint through design, build, testing, and deployment

• Deliver high-quality, secure code and configurations that meet technical standards and security guidelines

• Lead technical assessments and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives across existing systems

• Build and manage an external partner strategy, working with selected vendors to deliver development, testing, and support services

Technology Operations & Support

• Ensure seamless support for financial reporting and close activities, resolving technical issues quickly and effectively

• Maintain connectivity, integration, and data flow between SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and key finance solutions — including middleware, databases, and user interfaces

• Lead incident resolution and coordinate cross-functional teams to solve complex issues for tax, accounting and external reporting applications

• Manage application contracts, monitor license utilization, and oversee vendor relationships

Digital Innovation & Automation

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across Finance — identifying strategic opportunities to leverage technology for operational efficiency

• Build compelling business cases for automation and digitalization initiatives in collaboration with business stakeholders

• Evaluate emerging technologies — including RPA, AI/ML, and advanced analytics — and lead their implementation to transform processes

• Champion a culture of technical innovation and continuous learning within your team and across the broader finance technology community

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with Accounting and External Reporting and Tax Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear design and implementation playbooks that delivers value for the function

• Serve as the trusted technical advisor to senior finance leadership on systems capabilities and the technology roadmap

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to diverse audiences across a large, global, multicultural organization

• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives that require deep finance systems expertise

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of finance systems engineers and technical specialists — investing in their skills, careers, and growth

• Foster a team culture built on technical excellence, curiosity, and continuous learning

• Manage resource allocation across technical projects and system support activities to ensure the right people are working on the right things

What You'll Bring

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• 12+ years  of progressive experience in finance systems and technology roles, with significant hands-on expertise in  SAP S/4HANA Finance  (including Margin Analysis, COPA, General Ledger, and Asset Accounting, Allocations, Assessments and Top Down Distributions) and  Blackline  in large, complex enterprise environments

• Bachelor's degree  in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Strong knowledge of  software engineering and full stack development , including automated deployment, continuous integration, user interfaces, middleware, databases, APIs, and integration layers

• Demonstrated experience leading  large-scale ERP implementations  with full lifecycle ownership

• Solid understanding of  SOX compliance and internal controls frameworks  from a systems perspective

• Proven ability to lead  cross-functional and business partner teams  to deliver timely, accurate results

• Strong  business acumen  — you understand finance beyond accounting and external reporting, including Record to Report, financial close, consolidation, and external reporting processes

• Excellent  communication and stakeholder management skills  — you're as comfortable presenting to a CFO as you are working through a technical design with an engineering team

Preferred / Advantageous Experience

• Master's degree  in a relevant technical or business field

• Experience with  GLSU , HFM, Alteryx, and Microsoft Power Platform

• Hands-on experience implementing or evaluating  RPA, AI/ML, and advanced analytics  solutions in a finance context

• Familiarity with  CISP certification  or equivalent security/compliance credentials

• Experience working in a  global, multicultural organization  with distributed teams across multiple time zones

• Background in  shared services or global business services  environments
