We are highly motivated and skilled experts, and we are looking for curious, inspiring  Scientist in Cell line development .

Your key responsibilities

• Intermediate theoretical and scientific knowledge of industrial recombinant Cell line development

• Troubleshooting, problem recognition and problem-solving abilities including addressing and solving problems with medium complexity within own assigned area of responsibility and provide input more complex troubleshooting.

• Independently contributing to optimization of established methods/processes.

• Evaluation/implementation of new lab equipment/new technologies.

• Basic skills for drawing accurate assumptions and assessing next steps in development programs.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools.

• Proactive identification of risks and contribution to solutions.

• Evaluation, and interpretation of results.

• Reviewing and approving of raw data.

• Conduct basic information searches and knowledge exchange.

• Designing, planning, performing, documenting and interpretation scientific/developmental activities using state of the art approaches under guidance from experienced team members.

• Successful execution of assigned tasks and responsibilities within given timelines and expected quality.

• Exhibit a proactive and independent working style with a demonstrated ability to successfully handle several activities at a time.

• Interpreting results, reviewing and verifying data generated by others.

• Utilization and maintenance of specialized tools/equipment.

• Contributes to non-project KPI (e.g. Training)

• Acting in full compliance with regulatory requirements and adheres to applicable quality standards, procedures, and guidelines.

• Training and coaching of other junior team members, providing scientific and technical guidance within own area of responsibility.

• Manage equipment/infrastructure in laboratory operational aspects as assigned.

• Providing conditions for and control of the implementation of HSE tasks and requirements in the unit.

• communicating company vision and values; establish and manage good relationships with internal and external business partners.

• Other tasks determined during the annual objectives setting process and by KPIs.

• Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and tasks based on a specific appointment.

What you will bring to the role

• University degree in a pharmaceutical, chemistry or other relevant field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, no experience required in case of MSc. In case of a secondary (high school) education, at least 10 years of work experience is required.

• Intermediate or higher knowledge of English language

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

What we offer

Job location: Ljubljana

Contract type: permanent with a six-month probation period

Expected weekly working hours: 40

*Pay range: €33,760 – €50,640 gross yearly

• Salary at Sandoz is based on job level, qualifications, specific skills, and work experience. Fully proficient candidates are usually placed around the market median, less experienced candidates lower in the range, and those with strong or niche expertise higher. When determining placement within the range, we also consider internal pay equity and external market data.

Our compensation package additionally includes

• Annual bonus (STI): percentage of annual salary.

• Vacation allowance: in 2026 it was €2,450.00 net.

• Christmas bonus: in 2025 it was €2,100 gross.

• OurShare:  every year, an employee of Lek d.d. will be entitled to receive shares of Sandoz AG.

• Voluntary Additional Pension Scheme: The company fully covers the contribution for your supplementary pension plan, amounting to 5.844% of your gross salary (the maximum annual amount is 3,224.18 EUR).

• Srednje teoretično in znanstveno znanje na ustreznem področju.

• Prispevanje k razvoju in optimizaciji metod/procesov.

• Validiranje/uvajanje nove laboratorijske opreme/novih tehnologij.

• Osnovne veščine za oblikovanje natančnih predpostavk in ocenjevanje naslednjih korakov v razvojnih programih.

• Osnovno poznavanje laboratorijskih in/ali tehničnih orodij.

• Proaktivno prepoznavanje tveganj in prispevanje k rešitvam.

• Vrednotenje in interpretacija rezultatov.

• Pregled in odobritev primarnih podatkov.

• Izvaja osnovno iskanje informacij ter sodeluje pri izmenjavi znanja.

• Načrtovanje, izvajanje, dokumentiranje in interpretacija znanstvenih/razvojnih dejavnosti z uporabo najsodobnejših pristopov pod vodstvom izkušenih članov ekipe.
