Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist to help drive quality and regulatory excellence across the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. In this role, you'll partner with laboratory leaders and staff to support quality management initiatives, regulatory compliance, performance improvement efforts, and accreditation requirements that help ensure accurate and reliable laboratory results.

This position is ideal for an experienced laboratory professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with quality oversight, process improvement, and staff education to make a meaningful impact on patient care, research, and operational excellence.

The starting annual salary for this position is $73,755 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package. This will also include an additional geographic differential of $4.60/hr and an additional assignment differential of $4.00/hr.

What You'll Do:
As a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will:
Support quality assurance and regulatory activities across Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Partner with laboratory leadership to maintain and strengthen the Laboratory Quality Management System.
Review laboratory testing procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Conduct audits, analyze findings, and identify opportunities for quality improvement and operational excellence.
Monitor quality indicators and assist with corrective and preventive action initiatives.
Provide technical guidance, training, and support to laboratory staff on quality-related processes and best practices.
Assist with document management activities, including policy, procedure, and record review.
Help assess compliance with laboratory standards, regulations, and internal quality requirements.
Collaborate with laboratory teams to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
Serve as a quality and compliance resource for laboratory staff and departments across the organization.
Perform laboratory technology duties as needed while supporting departmental quality goals.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
1. Possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
2. Eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
3. Physician licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of New York.

Education and Experience
1. Doctorate degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank; or
2. Master’s degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank; or
3. Bachelor’s degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank; or
4. Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or laboratory science and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank.

NOTES:
1. As a condition of continued employment, full license eligible incumbents must obtain and maintain the full Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure in the State of New York within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. Possession of the Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure supersedes educational requirements listed above, as stated in section 58-1.5 (b) of the NYS Codes, Rules and Regulations.
3. The applicable clinical laboratory or blood bank experience must be from a clinical laboratory or blood bank as defined in Section 571 of the New York State Public Health Law.
4. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

The preferred candidate will possess a clinical lab background that encompasses experience within the Pathology lab disciplines. The preferred candidate will have experience with equipment and method validation including standard operating procedure development and document control. The preferred candidate will have knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards, experience with key performance indicators and process improvement, and experience with lab accreditation surveys and auditing. The preferred candidate will possess leadership/team building skills, possess excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. The preferred candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Laboratory Information Systems, and have experience with data analysis.
