In your role as a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for developing pipeline and generating qualified demand for BlackLine's market-leading financial automation solutions. You'll Get To

  • Qualify inbound marketing-generated leads from campaigns, digital channels, webinars, and field events;
  • Generate and qualify high-value meetings with prospective clients through targeted multi-channel outbound prospecting into strategic enterprise accounts and personas;
  • Engage proactively with senior finance and accounting prospects to uncover operational challenges and align them with BlackLine's solutions;
  • Address initial business and software capability queries throughout the sales qualification process;
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly outbound pipeline metrics (qualified meetings, pipeline generation, and account engagement);
  • Partner closely with regional Marketing and Field Sales teams to execute targeted account-based campaigns;
  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, data integrity, and pipeline tracking across Salesforce and Outreach;
  • Articulate the complex B2B sales cycle while engaging in strategic business conversations with C-suite executives and senior finance leaders across enterprise organisations;
  • Target a largely untapped greenfield market with over 90% total addressable market potential;
  • Successfully handle objections both on the phone and through email.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 1+ year of successful outbound prospecting experience in a BDR/SDR role (preferably within SaaS/B2B tech), or directly transferable commercial outbound experience (such as 360 agency recruitment, executive search, or high-volume business development);
  • Hands-on experience working with modern sales engagement and prospecting tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or equivalent tech stack);
  • Strong ability to quickly grasp complex business solutions, navigate enterprise organisational structures, and speak credibly with senior decision-makers;
  • Self-starter mindset with high accountability, resilience, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding activity and pipeline targets;
  • High level of professionalism, a collaborative mindset, and strong organisational skills to manage your pipeline and time effectively.
