How do we work?

As our Staff Systems Administrator, you’ll join a collaborative global Corporate IT team that keeps OANDA’s people and critical systems connected, secure, and running smoothly. You’ll help shape how we design, automate, and improve our internal technology environment, while supporting the wider team in solving complex problems and adopting better ways of working.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of critical internal systems

• Lead technical design sessions, retrospectives, and automation initiatives

• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to OANDA’s technology roadmap

• Mentor other systems administrators and run knowledge-sharing and training sessions

• Translate complex technical topics into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences

• Provide technical leadership and oversight across infrastructure projects

What skillset do you need to be successful in this role?

• Significant experience operating at Senior Systems Administrator, Lead, or equivalent level

• Strong hands-on experience administering enterprise Windows and macOS environments

• 1+ years of hands-on Google Workspace administration experience

• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and SSL/TLS

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP, and hybrid environments

• Experience designing, improving, and automating IT infrastructure and operational processes

• Understanding of IAM/PAM concepts and practices; SailPoint experience is beneficial

• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST, as well as disaster recovery planning

• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and influencing infrastructure decisions

• Curiosity about AI and how it can be used to improve IT operations and employee experience

• Excellent communication skills - you can make complex technical topics easy to understand

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience; a master’s degree is a plus

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux and knowledge of Azure

• Scripting and automation skills using tools such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or Ansible

• VDI experience, ideally with Workspot

• Relevant industry certifications, such as MCSE, RHCE, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional Google Workspace Administrator
