Tenure-track position in Number Theory

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Number Theory (or closely related fields such as Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory) with a target start date of August 1, 2027.  Ideal candidates will have interests that complement and enhance McGill's current research strengths in algebra & number theory, especially in the areas of arithmetic geometry and automorphic representations.

Qualifications: Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Mathematics or a related field at the date of appointment and must demonstrate outstanding records or potential in research, teaching, and mentorship .

Duties : Duties include conducting research, teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, supervising students, and standard administrative duties at the levels of the department, university, and research community.

Salary:  Salary will be negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Documentation:  A cover letter, a curriculum vitae (including a list of publications), a research outline, a teaching statement which includes an account of teaching experience, and at least four letters of references, one of which specifically addresses the teaching record. Candidates are also encouraged to provide web links for up to five selected reprints or preprints.
