Senior Backend Engineer - Operator Team

Your role

Fastned aims to accelerate the transition towards sustainable mobility by giving freedom to electric drivers. As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Operator team , you will help build and evolve the software that enables Fastned to operate one of Europe’s most reliable fast-charging networks.

The team owns Revolt Admin , Fastned’s internal operations platform used by Customer Operations, Network Operations and Field Operations to manage and monitor stations, chargers, charging sessions, users and payments. By improving this platform, you will have a direct impact on the scalability and reliability of Fastned’s network.

You will work closely with frontend engineers, product management, product design, other engineering teams and internal stakeholders. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership, navigating ambiguity and turning complex operational challenges into pragmatic, reliable solutions.

Your overall responsibilities include

Designing, developing, testing and reviewing reusable, maintainable and scalable code for Revolt Admin and Fastned’s operational platforms;

Delivering core Operator milestones that improve Revolt Admin, reliability of Fastned’s charging infrastructure;

Working AI-first: using AI-augmented engineering, agentic workflows and AI tooling as a natural part of how you design, build, test and review, with judgement for where AI is a multiplier and where humans stay in the loop;

Taking ownership from discovery to post-production;

Taking operational responsibility for what you build, including monitoring, alerting and incident analysis;

Helping improve engineering methodologies and best practices, and mentoring others as a senior engineer and technical sparring partner in the Operator team.
