Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Senior Technical Security Lead, Security Platforms, reporting directly to the Director of Security Platforms. As the senior technical authority within the Security Platforms team’s remit, you will provide leadership across the team’s portfolio, advise on strategic and high-risk decisions, strengthen governance, and lead the resolution of issues spanning endpoint security, identity protection, security automation, threat detection, exposure management, data protection, and AI-enabled security capabilities.
As a trusted advisor to the Director of Security Platforms, you will mentor Technical Security Leads and deputise for the Director when required . Success in the role requires sound judgement, deep technical expertise , a customer-first mindset, and the ability to influence decisions across technology, security, and business functions.

This role provides senior technical leadership and governance across a broad security technology portfolio. The Senior Technical Security Lead helps ensure platforms remain secure, resilient, operationally effective, and aligned with evolving business, cybersecurity, regulatory, and customer requirements.
The role helps shape the future direction of the Security Platforms organisation while maintaining a strong customer-first focus. You will work with platform consumers, operational teams, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure security services deliver measurable value, operational excellence, and a consistent customer experience.
What You Will Be Responsible For
In this role, you will:

Serve as a senior technical authority across the Security Platforms portfolio.

Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical, operational, and security issues within the Security Platforms team’s remit, particularly where cross-platform coordination, material risk decisions, or executive engagement are required .

Deputise for the Director of Security Platforms when required , including representing the Security Platforms function in leadership forums, supporting priority decisions, and maintaining continuity across critical team activities.

Provide portfolio-level technical direction across the security capabilities within the Security Platforms team’s remit, ensuring decisions are aligned across those platforms and support the Security Platforms strategy.

Mentor Technical Security Leads and platform engineering teams, strengthening technical decision-making, governance discipline, and consistency across the team’s portfolio.

Support the development of platform strategy, roadmaps, governance standards, and operating models.

Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and assessments of emerging security technologies and capabilities.

Evaluate and govern AI-enabled security technologies and security automation opportunities.

Partner closely with Security Operations, Cyber Defence, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting, Architecture, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and business stakeholders.

Champion a customer-focused approach to platform delivery, ensuring services meet the needs of operational teams, technology partners, and platform consumers.

Drive platform adoption, service quality improvements, operational effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Lead root-cause analysis and drive long-term remediation activities for significant incidents and recurring issues.

Engage with strategic vendors to influence product direction, support issue resolution, and maximise value from platform investments.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on security outcomes, platform resilience, operational excellence, automation, and user experience.

Support regulatory, audit, governance, and risk management activities across the Security Platforms portfolio.

Promote engineering excellence, technical standards, operational maturity, and service reliability across the platform ecosystem.

Education and Preferred Qualifications
A degree is not required for this role, although a qualification in cybersecurity, information security, information systems, or a related discipline may be beneficial.
Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security operations, platform engineering, or related technical disciplines.
Relevant industry certifications are preferred but not required . These may include CISSP, ISSAP, GIAC, Security+, cloud security certifications, or equivalent industry-recognised qualifications.

Financial services industry experience is beneficial but not required .
Additional Requirements
Additional requirements for this role include:

Participation in an escalation and on-call rotation as required .
