THE OPPORTUNITY

CONTEXT

You will be part of the Professional Services Team whose mission is to successfully deliver our unique and configurable solution to customers and support our Partner community with high quality standards and a strong commitment to excellence and efficiency. Our team is very hands-on with a strong mindset of problem-solving while also having the ability to think holistically and provide solutions that solve the customer's long-term challenges. The Data Intelligence division within this team focuses specifically on the pillars of system integrations, advanced Power BI reporting, and end-to-end spend management data solutions.

ROLE :

We are seeking a highly technical, hands‑on, and detail‑oriented Principal Integration professional to lead the most complex, hands‑on integration designs and builds across our implementation portfolio. The ideal candidate is a senior individual contributor with a strong integration background and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing mission‑critical interfaces between cloud platforms and enterprise systems.

You will act as the go‑to integration expert across projects: owning design, build, troubleshooting and optimization for the most critical and technically ambiguous data flows, while setting standards that Senior Integration Leads and project teams execute against, and mentoring other team members (without direct line management).

This role is an individual contributor position, with significant autonomy and impact.

WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US

Integration Design & Implementation

• End‑to‑End Integration Design: Lead the detailed design of the most complex integrations between Ivalua and ERPs, HR, finance, logistics, and other third‑party systems, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

• Hands‑On Build: Configure and develop integrations using Ivalua tools, APIs, ETL/EAI/middleware, file‑based interfaces and scripting where needed. Own technical implementation from design through deployment for the highest‑complexity streams.

• Standards & Reuse: Define, publish, and continuously refine integration standards, reusable patterns, and best practices (e.g., modular mappings, error handling, logging, versioning) for Senior Integration Leads and consultants to apply across projects.

• Performance & Robustness: Analyze and optimize integration performance (throughput, latency, data volumes), and design robust error handling, reconciliation and recovery strategies that serve as the reference approach for the broader team.

• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Act as the top‑level technical escalation point for integration‑related incidents that Senior Integration Leads and project teams cannot resolve, during build, SIT/UAT, go‑live and hypercare phases.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Work with Functional & Technical Teams: Collaborate closely with Functional Consultants, Solution Architects, Data Engineers and Project Managers to align integration design with business processes and data models.

• Customer Technical Workshops: Lead or co‑lead technical workshops with customers' IT and integration teams on the most strategically significant or technically ambiguous engagements, to capture integration requirements, present solution options, and validate technical designs.

• R&D Feedback: Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering teams on integration capabilities, feature gaps, and improvement opportunities encountered across the portfolio.

• Pre‑Sales Support: Provide technical input on the most complex or high‑risk proposals — contributing to solution design, effort estimation, and technical due diligence for prospective clients where deep integration expertise is needed to de‑risk the deal.

Delivery Excellence

• Technical Specifications: Produce high‑quality, reference‑standard technical design documents (integration specification, mapping documents, sequence diagrams) and keep them up to date.

• Quality Assurance: Define the org's unit, integration, and regression testing standards and frameworks, and perform peer reviews of integration designs and implementations across projects.

• Risk & Issue Management: Identify systemic integration risks (e.g., recurring dependencies, data quality patterns, performance constraints) and partner with project teams to define and drive mitigation plans at the practice level.

• Lifecycle Support: Support cutover planning, go‑live readiness, and post‑go‑live stabilization from an integration standpoint, including monitoring and early‑life support for the most critical engagements.

Partner & Internal Enablement

• Technical Mentor: Informally mentor and coach Senior Integration Leads and junior integration/technical consultants by sharing best practices, code samples, troubleshooting techniques and design approaches.

• Partner Guidance: Provide technical guidance to partners' integration consultants on specific projects, clarifying Ivalua integration patterns, constraints and recommended approaches.

• Knowledge Assets: Contribute to internal knowledge base articles, how‑to guides, reference implementations, and sample configurations to accelerate future projects.

YOUR PROFILE

If you have the below experience and strengths this role could be for you:

Required Skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience in technical integration, technical consulting, or web‑based software development, ideally in SaaS or complex enterprise environments.

• Significant hands‑on experience designing and implementing integrations using ETL/EAI or other integration/middleware technologies.

• Strong practical experience with SOAP and REST APIs, including API consumption, design principles, authentication methods, and error handling.

• Solid understanding of data transfer mechanisms (e.g., SFTP, FTPS, API‑based, file‑based) and data formats such as CSV, XML, JSON (experience with cXML/EDI a plus).

• Proficient with relational databases and SQL (e.g., SQL Server or equivalent): able to write and tune complex queries, perform data analysis, and investigate performance issues.

• Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve most the complex integration problems across applications, middleware, and databases.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to data integrity, security and long‑term maintainability.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical topics to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and leading technical working sessions with senior client and internal stakeholders. .

• Comfortable working in a customer‑facing Professional Services or consulting environment, managing multiple workstreams and priorities.

• A Bachelor's (BS) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field or foreign equivalent is required.

• Ability and willingness to travel as needed (~10–20%, depending on project needs).
