Job Summary

Responsible for conducting research trials for patients while adhering to all applicable FDA regulations and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. Ensures patient advocacy throughout all decision-making processes. Accompanies patients during all clinical trial procedures. Coordinates research activities to maintain compliance and support patient safety.

Essential Functions

• Understands and complies with research policies, procedures, and safety standards.

• Evaluates patients for clinical trial eligibility using protocol criteria.

• Educates patients and families about research risks, benefits, and alternatives.

• Obtains informed consent for participation in clinical trials.

• Randomizes patients and ensures protocol-required orders are executed and documented.

• Monitors, documents, and reports patient responses and adverse events.

• Maintains accurate logs for drugs, devices, and research documentation.

• Communicates with sponsors, IRB, physicians, and research staff.

• Prepares and restocks research trial carts and supplies.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, research, or a related field

Master’s degree in nursing is preferred

Experience Requirement

0-2 years of experience in nursing, or a relevant area

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Certifications & Licensures

Maintains active RN licensure
