Lead Electronics Design Engineer

Objective of the position

In this role, you will provide project-level leadership for the Electronics Design team in Tallinn. The team is responsible for developing hardware solutions for vehicle electronics, including PCB-based electronic systems and optical solutions. One of the key products the team works with is MirrorEye, a camera-based system that replaces traditional vehicle mirrors with cameras and in-cabin displays.

You will coordinate the team’s (3-5 people) work across projects, help set technical priorities, and make sure engineers have the support and direction they need to deliver their work. You will also follow project progress, quality, costs and deadlines.

At the same time, this is a hands-on role. You will stay involved in hardware development and work closely with engineers from different disciplines to turn customer and product requirements into practical technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical priorities based on project and business needs.

• Coordinate engineers and resources across projects, making sure responsibilities and priorities are clear.

• Support project planning and follow up on progress, deadlines, quality and costs.

• Improve the team’s working methods, tools and processes where needed.

• Work with other engineering functions to solve technical issues and keep projects moving forward.

• Follow developments in electronics and related technologies and assess their relevance to our products.

• Support knowledge sharing within the team and help engineers work effectively together.

Education, experience and knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a related field.

• Previous experience in hardware and/or electronics engineering.

• 3+ years of experience in a technical lead, project lead or similar leadership role.

• Good understanding of hardware and electronics development and how hardware and software work together.

• Hands-on experience with PCB design, including layout, PCB/PCBA manufacturability and hardware validation.

• Experience with PCB design tools such as DxDesigner, PADS, Altium or Siemens Xpedition.

• Good English communication skills.

• Knowledge of PPAP, DFMEA, APQP and 8D is an advantage.

• Knowledge of RoHS, REACH, ISO 16750, ISO 26262 and R10 is an advantage.

• Automotive industry experience is a plus.
