Collinsville Open Cut is Queensland’s oldest existing coal mine, with a long history of producing quality metallurgical and thermal coal for export markets and a bright future. Located approximately 160 km from Airlie Beach in North Queensland, the operation combines the experience of an established mine with a workforce focused on getting the job done safely and effectively. With a strong connection to the local community and a practical, hands-on approach, Collinsville is a place where people work together, share their experience and look for better ways to do things.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer we are recruiting for an experienced Mining Engineer - Mid-Term Planning to join Technical Services team.

With a long life of mine, there are numerous opportunities for a medium-term engineer to deliver significant value, gain exposure to the diverse challenges/opportunities, work closely with multiple stakeholders and fast-track one’s own skill development.

In this role, you will

• Drive the development and optimisation of mid-term plans.

• Develop safe and robust stage plans using Maptek Vulcan (Similar software experience is valued)

• Assist with monthly scheduling using SPRY. Opportunity to grow and develop SPRY skills

• EOM reporting and reconciliation

• Ensure alignment with business objectives, operational efficiency and resource maximisation

About You

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.

• Experience in open cut coal mine planning.

• Proficient in mine planning software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience is a plus.
