Your Role

As a Software Engineer at   Nextens , you work on a business-critical platform used daily by thousands of professionals. You develop new functionality, expand existing modules, and ensure that our software   remains   reliable, well-tested, and future-proof.

You enjoy technical challenges and have a strong eye for quality and sustainability. Together with domain experts, fellow engineers, and product owners, you build software that our customers can trust completely .

You will join Team Fiscal, a product engineering team responsible for key parts of our Dutch tax filing platform. Together with fiscal experts and product colleagues, the team translates changing legislation into reliable software for tax professionals across the Netherlands.

Key responsibilities include:

Build and enhance core modules for tax filing and compliance, used by thousands of professionals every year.

Use modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools where   appropriate , to improve productivity, quality, and maintainability.

Develop back-end and front-end components (APIs, interfaces, integrations) to ensure a scalable and stable platform, even with large data volumes and complex tax logic .

Contribute to new features and innovations, such as integrations with external systems and tools for tax advisory workflows .

Work closely with domain experts and product owners to translate regulations and customer needs into reliable software solutions .

Safeguard quality and maintainability through testing, refactoring, and continuous improvement of both new and existing code .

What   You   Bring

-
A   bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

-
2- 5   years of   hands-on   software development experience,   ideally with   .NET Core and Azure.

-
Interest in using AI-assisted development tools responsibly as part of everyday engineering work.

-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially when working with complex logic or data .

A collaborative mindset — you enjoy working closely with   engineers and domain experts   to   create   practical,   high-quality   solutions.

A focus on clean, maintainable code and a habit of writing tests to ensure quality .

Fluency in English is   required . You can read and understand Dutch requirements texts; spoken Dutch is helpful but not essential .

Als Software Engineer   bij   Nextens   werk je aan onderdelen van een platform dat dagelijks door duizenden professionals wordt gebruikt. Je komt terecht in Team   Fiscal , een product engineering team dat verantwoordelijk is voor belangrijke onderdelen van ons Nederlandse belastingaangifteplatform. Samen met fiscale experts en productcollega’s vertaalt het team veranderende wet- en regelgeving naar betrouwbare software voor belastingprofessionals in heel Nederland.

Je werkzaamheden:

Bouwen aan   core   modules voor belastingaangifte en compliance, waarmee jaarlijks duizenden professionals werken.

Moderne engineeringpraktijken toepassen, waaronder AI-ondersteunde ontwikkeltools waar passend, om productiviteit, kwaliteit en   onderhoudbaarheid   te verbeteren.

Ontwikkelen   van   back-end   en front-end componenten ( API’s , interfaces, integraties)   voor een   schaalbaar   en   stabiel   platform,   ook bij grote datavolumes en complexe belastinglogica.

Meewerken aan nieuwe features en innovaties , zoals   koppelingen met   externe -pakketten, of integratie van tools voor fiscale advisering .

Samenwerken met domeinexperts en product   owners   om regels en klantwensen te vertalen naar betrouwbare software.

Zorgen voor kwaliteit en   onderhoudbaarheid   via testen,   refactoring   en het verbeteren van nieuwe en bestaande code .

Wat jij meebrengt

Een afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding in informatica, software engineering of vergelijkbaar.

2- 5   jaar ervaring in softwareontwikkeling   met   .NET   Core   en   Azure .

Kennis van moderne   webtechnologieën , zoals   Angular ,   React   of vergelijkbare   frameworks .

Interesse om AI-ondersteunde ontwikkeltools verantwoord in te zetten als onderdeel van dagelijks engineeringwerk.
