The opportunity

We are seeking a   Senior   AI Architect to join   Health AI   Squad   at Manulife Asia , based in Singapore / Hong Kong. In this role, you will lead the design and integration of scalable Health AI solutions across Asia, translating   health   business priorities into enterprise-ready platform capabilities. You will define solution architecture patterns, integrate Generative AI services with   health data, workflows   and core   health   platforms, and ensure solutions are secure, reusable, measurable and aligned with Manulife’s technology standards. Your leadership will help accelerate Health AI adoption by connecting innovation with production-grade delivery, enabling markets to deploy consistent, high-impact   health   AI capabilities while allowing flexibility for local needs.

Responsibilities

• Partner   with   Data Scientists ,   ML Engineers   and AI Developers   to   architect,   build and support   scalable Health   AI services   across   Asia .

• Collaborate with Data   Engineers   and IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to   understand health   data   sources   and   define architecture patterns that   prepare , govern   and optimize data for   Generative AI -based   solutions.

• Design and guide the implementation of advanced AI solution patterns, including RAG, agentic workflows and multi-agent approaches, to address complex Health AI use cases.

• Work closely with business and technology partners to gather requirements, define solution designs and integrate Health AI capabilities with enterprise platforms in alignment with Manulife’s Generative AI architecture standards.

• Establish reusable architecture patterns, standards, processes and tools that enable consistent delivery of secure and scalable Health AI solutions across markets.

• Drive adoption of Health AI capabilities by influencing stakeholders, shaping implementation roadmaps and ensuring solutions deliver measurable business and customer impact.

• Explore   and   apply innovative   methods to leverage structured and unstructured   health   data   through enterprise   AI services , including Azure OpenAI and related platform capabilities .

• Stay current with AI/ML, Generative AI and Health AI technology trends, and translate relevant advancements into architecture guidance that continuously strengthens Manulife’s Health AI capabilities.

We are seeking a candidate who brings:

• An advanced degree in Computer Science,   Engineering, Data Science,   Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, complemented by significant experience   in AI solution architecture and enterprise-scale technology delivery .

• Proven expertise in   architecting,   developing and scaling   Generative AI solutions , with a track record of   translating   complex business   needs into secure, reusable and production-ready AI platform capabilities , with at least   6   years of   relevant   experience.

• Strong understanding of AI,   data   pipeline and machine learning production   architectures,   especially with Azure services , with advanced skills in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL ,   relevant GenAI orchestration   frameworks such as   LangChain ,   LangGraph , ADK   and   CrewAI , and   a   practical understanding of agile solution   delivery   principles.

• Hands-on experience with   cloud,   data   and   AI   platforms such as Azure,   Azure OpenAI,   Databricks and Spark,   with the ability to define architecture patterns and guide   implementation   teams from prototype through production   scaling.

• Outstanding communication   and stakeholder management   skills, including the ability to   explain   complex   AI architecture   concepts , trade-offs and implementation roadmaps   to   both   technical and non-technical   audiences .

• A solid track record of successfully   delivering   Generative AI solutions   into production,   including architecture governance, risk controls, performance monitoring and   measurable business value realization .

• Previous experience in   insurance , health, or related regulated industries , with a   strong understanding of Generative AI architecture   patterns   using   Azure and   OpenAI services, is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to lead   through influence,   mentor   technical teams, shape architecture decisions   and collaborate effectively with cross-functional   partners across business, data, engineering, IT, security and governance   teams.
