Divisional Manager - Water

This is a great leadership opportunity in Hawke’s Bay for someone with strong water sector experience who wants to make a genuine impact. As Divisional Manager - Water, you’ll oversee the Hastings District Council 3 Waters Maintenance contract and lead a business committed to delivering excellent customer service to the community across vital lifeline infrastructure — from source to sea — keeping taps running, toilets flushing, and drains functioning throughout the Hastings region.

You’ll own the division’s contribution to the regional business plan across financial performance, safety, people leadership, forward work, operational delivery and customer relationships. It’s a role with real scope, responsibility and the chance to help shape growth, direction and continuous improvement. • Lead the division and HDC 3 Waters Maintenance Contract to deliver safe, high-quality work for customers, on time and within budget.

• Drive financial performance through strong business planning, budgeting, forecasting, capex and divisional targets.

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of forward work through pricing, tendering, customer engagement and smart commercial decisions.

• Grow strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers while managing risk and identifying opportunity.

• Lead and develop your team by setting clear expectations, backing people to perform and creating a culture of accountability, safety and good work.

• Proven leadership experience in water, civil contracting, civil construction or infrastructure, with a strong track record of operational and commercial delivery.

• Strong relationship skills and the confidence to work closely with clients, understand what matters to them and negotiate practical commercial outcomes.

• Solid contracting and commercial knowledge, including a sound understanding of NZS3910 and disciplined contract management.

• Financial management experience, with the ability to lead against plans, budgets and targets while staying close to performance.

• People first leadership style, strong safety focus and the ability to build capable teams who work hard, back each other and keep moving forward together.
