David Kennedy Recruitment is working with an innovative global Customer Experience company currently looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer (Architecture) to join their growing international team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and systems using Laravel (PHP) and Vue.js

Contribute to architectural decisions and help drive scalable, maintainable, and high-performance technical solutions

Work with distributed systems, queue-based architectures, Kafka, and event-driven patterns

Optimise platform performance, reliability, scalability, and overall system stability

Collaborate closely with Head of Development, DevOps Engineers, and Senior Developers on technical initiatives and infrastructure improvements

Support engineering best practices, clean code principles, and continuous technical improvement

-
Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and provide technical mentorship to developers

Work with containerised and cloud-native environments using Docker and Kubernetes

Participate actively in day-to-day hands-on development while supporting long-term technical direction

Contribute to improving development processes, scalability, and engineering standards across the platform.

REQUIREMENTS

-
Strong written and spoken English communication skills

-
5–8+ years of software engineering experience

-
Strong system design and software architecture experience

-
Solid backend development experience with PHP/Laravel or similar frameworks

Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, ideally Vue.js

-
Experience working with distributed systems and queue/event-driven architectures

-
Hands-on experience with Kafka and queue systems

-
Strong knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL databases

-
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred

Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving abilities

Passion for technology with proactive self-learning mentality

Ability to work collaboratively within fast-paced technical environments.
