Salary Range: Annually from $119,222 - 166,684

THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT
The Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs reports to the President, serves as the senior academic affairs officer, and has primary responsibility for leadership, management, strategic direction, policy development, and oversight for the academic affairs division. The Provost/Vice President provides critical leadership in enhancing and supporting the mission of the College by providing a range of academic services and programs to support students’ academic success and meet the diverse educational needs of students and the College community.
The Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs provides the leadership, vision, and oversight for instructional programs. This position provides the vision and guidance for policy formulation, educational planning and new program development in an integrated instructional, academic support and student success setting. The Provost/Vice President is also responsible for academic planning, teaching, research, partnerships, and continuing education.
The Provost/Vice President, as the colleges’ chief academic affairs officer, provides administrative leadership and oversight of a large, complex college division which currently includes but is not limited to: Academic Operations; Business, Social Sciences, and Education; Humanities; Health Sciences; STEM; and Continuing Education/Customized Training.
The Provost/Vice President serves on the President’s cabinet and provides broad advice and assistance to the President in establishing and meeting the strategic direction of the college. As a member of the president’s senior administrative team, the Provost/Vice President develops policy and procedure on institutional issues, represents the College in Minnesota State decision-making and with other external agencies and bodies, and serves as a college officer/representative on public occasions.
This position will directly contribute to the achievement of the college’s strategic goals through individual, divisional, and college-wide efforts. The ideal candidate in this role is a visionary, inspiring, and transformational leader committed to the principles of equity and inclusion, and has a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management in a mission-driven organization.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications required to be considered for an interview
- Master’s degree
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience within academic affairs at a college or university
- Experience as an academic dean or equivalent position at the college or university level
- Experience as a college or university faculty member, including teaching responsibilities and engagement in academic scholarship, curriculum development, and assessment of student learning, demonstrating an understanding of teaching, learning, and the academic mission of higher education
- Experience in the areas of leadership, strategic planning, program development and evaluation, budget management, and supervision
- Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of the diverse backgrounds and needs of college students, staff, and faculty
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds, and exceptional written, oral, and public speaking skills
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative planning and shared governance in a multi-contract collective bargaining environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of a community college, with an understanding and appreciation of equity, inclusion, and belonging principles in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree
- Demonstrated experience leading innovation and organizational change as related to academic programs and workforce development
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with demanding and high stress situations, multiple priorities, and varied situations simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative, equitable solutions and make data-informed decisions to complex management and operational challenges
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, teamwork, and cooperation among faculty, administrators and staff
- Knowledge and understanding of higher education accreditation, FERPA laws, and student records
