Aircraft Mechanic III - Crew Chief
Description
Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic III - Crew Chief to p rovide aircraft Maintenance Support, Management, and Leadership of a T-6A opportunity in Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base, Iraq (Balad Air Base) . The selected candidate shall possess versatile skills and abilities to perform a wide range of responsibilities . The selected candidate w ill exercise sound judgement in making decisions by an understanding of operational requirements, the available resources and options, and analyzing the impacts – both short term and long term. This person shall have working experience all aspects of flightline, phase maintenance, and Aircrew Life Support Systems .
Knowledge & Skills

Experience providing OJT to technicians.

Interface with operational customer to develop flying schedules and plan major maintenance events, complete daily and monthly operational reports , documents inventory usage, controls workflow.

Work with other A&P Mechanics and technical representatives to trouble shoot, diagnose and solve unusual and complex maintenance problems.

Ability to apply logic and good judgment, understand technical order diagrams and procedures, use test equipment for analysis of airframe, engine, flight control, pneudraulic, fuel, electrical/electronic systems, problems.

Plan and schedule aircraft utilization and maintenance activity and coordinates performance with operational customers .

Assist in maintaining accurate parts inventory.

Supervises aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.

Supervises aircraft and component inspections.

Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective actions.

Troubleshoot aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment.

Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation.

Ability to Inspect and operate powered and nonpowered aerospace ground equipment.

Performs Quality Verification Inspections (QVI) as needed

Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Experience & Education

Must have current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P). ·

Minimum of Ten ( 10 ) years working knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations on one or more of the T-6 Texan or similar Fixed-Wing aircraft is required .

Must have Aircraft Maintenance experience.

Must have a broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and Air Force technical publications.

Demonstrated leadership ability combined with attention to detail.

Must have knowledge of the scope and limitation of various categories of maintenance and their application.

Must know theories and principles of engine operations; accessories and components; theory of flight; rigging of flight controls; electrical and electronic; pneudraulic; and mechanical principles.

Knowledge of sheet metal, properties of materials, fuels, and oils. Ability to read, interpret and use manufacturers and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, data tables and other specifications to determine feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.

Must have a working knowledge of aircraft safety requirements.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
