Job Summary

Leads the pharmacy team in the coordination, monitoring, and supervision of pharmacy services. This includes human resources, medication systems and pharmaceutical care to ensure the provision of quality patient focused care that meets all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Plans and develops customer focused pharmacy systems and services for specific area to meet the changing needs of the medical enterprise. Works with administrative team and staff to constantly innovate the method for delivery of quality cost effective pharmacy services. Manages and develops staff members to ensure competency and growth of staff. Manages budget including volumes, drug and personnel expense for a specific area.

Vanderbilt Health is seeking an experienced and collaborative Clinical Pharmacy Manager to provide leadership for pharmacists supporting critical care and emergency medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy leader who is passionate about advancing medication safety, developing high-performing teams, and influencing patient care.

In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a team of Clinical Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacist Specialists, and Clinical Team Leads. You will play a critical role in supporting the people and processes that ensure exceptional patient outcomes across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support a team of 10-15 clinical pharmacy professionals, including Clinical Pharmacists, Clinical Team Leads, and Clinical Pharmacist Specialists.
  • Drive initiatives related to medication safety, quality improvement, formulary management, and clinical best practices.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, professional development, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other interdisciplinary partners to optimize medication use and patient outcomes.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to direct reports.
  • Support clinical pharmacy services across critical care and emergency medicine providing 24/7 care.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, patient care delivery, and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the growth and expansion of clinical pharmacy services as the institution continues to expand its critical care capacity.

What We're Looking For

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • PGY2 residency training in Critical Care preferred.
  • Candidates with a PGY1 residency and critical care or emergency medicine practice experience coupled with leadership experience will also be considered.
  • 2 years of progressive pharmacy experience, including leadership responsibilities is required. 3-5 years is preferred.
  • Previous experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience as a Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Team Lead, Residency Program Director, or similar leadership role is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, mentoring clinicians, and driving practice improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
