Position Summary

In this role, you will directly enable operational and mission readiness by ensuring critical aviation parts, equipment, and materials are available where and when they are needed—often in remote or austere environments. As a Material Handler, you are a trusted operator responsible for the accuracy, movement, and accountability of high-value, compliance-sensitive materials supporting global operations.

You will be successful if you can execute  logistics  with speed, discipline, and precision while navigating export controls, 3PL  (third-party  logistics )  warehouse relations, aviation regulations, and complex supply chains. Your effectiveness is measured by  aircraft availability, operational continuity, and the confidence others place in your judgement.

Initially, you will help establish Metrea’s regional aviation materials and logistics capability in Munich, creating the processes and infrastructure needed to support European operations. You will often operate as the sole logistics specialist onsite, taking hands-on ownership of the complete materials lifecycle while working closely with aircraft maintainers, flight crews and site leaders.

What You'll Do

• Help establish and continuously improve Metrea’s European regional aviation materials and logistics capability.

• Receive purchase orders, process inbound shipments, and coordinate domestic and international shipments to meet operational requirements

• Manage aviation inventory including stocking, put-away, inventory control, material tracking, and parts issuance

• Manage the complete material lifecycle, including receiving, inspection, system entry, storage, stock control, parts issuance, returns, repair movements and reverse logistics .

• Create and receive orders within our ERP/WMS platforms and prepare commercial invoices and other international shipping documentation.

• Prioriti s e and process parts requests based on operational urgency, maintenance requirements, and flight schedules

• Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events through expedited  logistics coordination and rapid fulfilment of critical material requirements

• Fulfil parts requisitions from internal stock or coordinate procurement, repair, and  supplier activities to ensure on-time delivery

• Operate and  maintain   accurate  records within  logistics systems, including AMOS, to support material traceability and operational planning

• Coordinate  logistics activities across maintenance teams, program leadership, finance, 3PLs, transportation partners, and suppliers

• Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, shelf-life management, and scrap processing while  maintaining   accurate inventory records

• Facilitate storage, transportation, and customs activities in compliance with FAA, EASA, ITAR, and other applicable regulatory requirements

• Solve  logistics challenges creatively in expeditionary and logistically constrained environments to ensure uninterrupted mission support

• Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Global Supply Chain teams while adapting to evolving mission and customer requirements

What You Bring

Must Haves

• Ability to obtain an  Airport Security Clearance  at a German airport ( a valid  driver’s license plus  a  5-year employment history)

• 4+ years of broad, hands-on experience across inventory management, shipping, receiving and warehouse or materials operations, ideally within aviation, defence, another regulated industry, or a fast-paced large-scale distribution environment.

• Practical experience coordinating and handling Dangerous Goods shipments, including a working understanding of the associated processes and documentation. Current certification is not required .

• Demonstrated experience with procurement, inventory accountability, and international shipping

• Ability to  operate  effectively in compliance-driven, high-risk environments

• Strong written and verbal communication skill s in English and German

• P roficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Nice to Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Dangerous Goods Shipping Certification

• Forklift Certification

• 6+ years of relevant  logistics  or aviation support experience

• ERP experience, preferably AMOS and Microsoft Dynamics D365

• Experience supporting deployed, forward, or austere operations

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

The employee will have the legal right to work in the  Germany   and will be able to produce   right   to work documentation.  You must have the a bility to obtain an  Airport Security Clearance  at a German airport ( a valid  driver’s license plus  a  5-year employment history) .

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time operational role based in Munich. Working patterns will vary according to operational requirements and may require different shift patterns. T hese requirements may differ between the Munich site and deployed locations.

Work Environment

Munich, Germany. This job operates within aircraft hangar and warehouse environments.

Travel

Approximately 40% international travel is expected once the European operation is fully established . Deployments may last up to 45 days . Deployments will operate on a rotational basis, with breaks between assignments. Initial travel will also include training at Metrea’s established global logistics locations. Business travel and accommodation are covered by Metrea .

Compensation

€60,000–€75,000 gross annual base salary, dependent on experience, plus a 5% annual performance bonus.
