Infrastructure Expert – OpenShift & Azure

You will help keep our OpenShift container platform healthy, secure and up to date, and act as a technical point of contact for the application teams that rely on it. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone with a solid Linux background and a few years of real-world Kubernetes experience who wants to work on a platform at genuine scale, with all the complexity that mixed cloud, on-prem and edge environments bring.

Your responsibilities

• Operate, patch and upgrade OpenShift clusters and their underlying Linux hosts across cloud, on-premises and remote environments

• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents and alerts during working hours, and drive root-cause analysis and follow-up

• Work with development teams to understand their applications and design how they run on OpenShift

• Author, review and maintain Helm charts for applications, following and contributing to the team's shared chart standards and library charts

• Maintain and extend platform components delivered through GitOps, and contribute improvements back to shared configuration and charts

• Manage platform-level concerns such as certificates, secrets, image registries, ingress and observability

• Automate recurring operational tasks with scripting and infrastructure-as-code

• Write and maintain clear runbooks, documentation and knowledge-base articles

• Participate in change management: prepare, document and execute changes according to ITIL-style processes

• Collaborate daily with colleagues in Belgium and other locations, working across time zones

Your profile

• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production; OpenShift experience is a strong plus

• 2-5 years of professional experience in Linux system administration or engineering (RHEL/CentOS-family preferred)

• Good understanding of containers, networking (DNS, TLS, load balancing, ingress), storage and Linux security fundamentals

• Strong, practical knowledge of Kubernetes resources and how they fit together, and proven experience designing and writing Helm charts, not just deploying existing ones

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices: infrastructure and configuration as code, version-controlled change, CI/CD, automated testing, immutable deployments, and a "you build it, you run it" approach to reliability

• Experience with GitOps (Argo CD)

• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, centralized logging)

• Exposure to any of the following is a plus: Ansible, cloud platforms (Azure), certificate management, secrets management, VMware/vSphere

• Certifications (RHCSA, CKA, etc.) are welcome but not required. We care about what you can do, not what you hold.

• Fluent professional English, spoken and written. This is essential, as you will work daily with an international team and produce written documentation and change records

• Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

• Structured and methodical troubleshooter who documents what they find and follows through

• Ownership mindset: you take responsibility for the platform's health rather than waiting to be assigned tasks

• Comfortable working in a distributed team and asking for help or clarification early

• Service-oriented attitude towards application teams: patient, responsive and constructive

• Curious and willing to learn: the platform, the tooling and the business all keep evolving
