Developmental-Behavioral Physician - Milwaukee

Position Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics , Division of Pediatric Psychology and Developmental Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified/board eligible physician to join our expanding Division. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

Position Highlights:

• The developmental-behavioral pediatrician will work with an interdisciplinary team of colleagues, including psychologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, dieticians and others to provide care for patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities. While positions are primarily clinical, opportunities for scholarship and teaching are available and encouraged.

• The developmental-behavioral pediatrician will be responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients, developing individualized treatment recommendations, providing medication management, collaborating with medical professionals, offering guidance to parents/caregivers, and participating in interdisciplinary team meetings.

• This opportunity will include working with children and families from across the state, with varied backgrounds.

• The clinical focus will be on children with autism, attention concerns, learning challenges, language disorders, anxiety and other developmental issues.

• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in professional development, scholarly activities, and administrative duties.

• Clinical 90%: Services provided include diagnostic evaluations and medication management.

• Teaching 10%: All Department faculty are expected to teach a variety of learners, including fellows, residents, and medical students as they rotate through our clinics.

• High-level overview of patient population: children and adolescents generally between 0-18 years of age

• Locations the position may work in: Primary location is Center for Child Development, Wauwatosa, with potential to see some patients at the Children's Milwaukee Campus.

• Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

Schedule:

• FTE/Schedule requirements: 1.0 FTE, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine is comprised of more than 45 faculty along with APPs and dedicated research staff. Division faculty deliver all levels of training as part of our mission to teach the next generation of providers.

Located in Wauwatosa, the Center for Child Development at Children's Wisconsin is dedicated to the care of children, from infancy through adolescence, with developmental challenges. We provide services directly or in collaboration with our primary care and pediatric specialists to provide high-quality, family-centered care, education, prevention, reasearch and advocacy. Our team works closely with parents, families and schools to better understand the impact of children's developmental and behavioral challenges on the family and daily life. We work with families to advocate for their children by partnering with schools and other therapy providers involved in the child's care.

Qualifications:

• Medical/Doctoral degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

• Board certification (or eligibility) in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.

• State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain license, in the state of Wisconsin.

• Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience.

Children’s and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin – the Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children’s Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2026-2027, CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; gastroenterology and GI surgery; nephrology, neurology, and neurosurgery; pulmonology and Urology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions.
