Manager, UK Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), EU CF S&OP
Amazon's UK fulfillment network is one of the largest single-region operations in Europe — 50+ nodes processing billions of units per year. The UK S&OP Manager owns the plan that makes it work.
This role is responsible for Sales & Operations Planning across the full UK network: Customer Demand, Inbound (Retail and Fulfilled by Amazon), Inbound Transfers, Vendor Returns, and Customer Returns across a multi-tiered network. Leading a team of 6 planners, analysts, and managers, you will build short and mid-term (1–16 week) Fulfillment Center (FC)-specific plans that balance customer experience, cost efficiency, speed, and carbon intensity across the network.
This is a strategic role at the center of Amazon's UK supply chain. You are the direct business partner for FC Operations, Labor Planning, Placement, Transportation, Stores, FBA, and Finance — and a key member of both the UK leadership team and the European Supply Chain leadership group. You own the UK region's Quarterly Strategy process, setting the direction for how the network evolves across planning horizons and ensuring alignment with senior leadership on customer experience, capacity and cost trade-offs.
What makes this role unique is the breadth of trade-offs you navigate. There is no single objective function to optimize: plans must solve within capacity constraints while minimizing cost and carbon footprint and maximizing delivery speed and accuracy. These goals often compete, and the stakeholders behind them — spanning every major function from operational teams to senior leadership — bring different priorities. Your ability to earn trust, synthesize competing inputs, and make sound judgment calls is what keeps the UK network balanced and drives performance.
A core part of this role is driving the next generation of S&OP — leveraging agentic AI and automation to scale planning capabilities beyond what semi-automated/manual processes can achieve. You will be expected to challenge the status quo, identify opportunities to automate, and partner with technology teams to build the tools that allow the network to scale without scaling the team linearly.
This is a high-visibility position with direct exposure to senior leadership and a clear trajectory for growth as the network continues to scale.
Why this job You won't find many positions where one team's weekly plan directly shapes how millions of customers receive their orders. The UK S&OP Manager doesn't just build plans — they partner with every major function in the business and own the strategy that optimizes one of Amazon's most complex networks. If you thrive at the intersection of analytical rigor and stakeholder leadership, this is the role.
