Job Expectations
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for an Executive Manager, Disruption Management . This role will report to the Executive General Manager, Resilience & Asset Management.
##
A bit about your role
As the Executive Manager, Disruption Management, you will lead nbn’s approach to navigating uncertainty and responding effectively to disruptive events and crises. You will guide the design, development, delivery and assurance of nbn’s Disruption Management Framework, bringing together the organisation’s Crisis Management and Emergency Management systems to strengthen enterprise-wide preparedness and resilience.
Working collaboratively with executives, senior leaders, business units and external stakeholders, you will build trusted partnerships and support coordinated decision-making during high-impact events. You will also lead programs that prepare and enable nbn’s Integrated Crisis Management Team and divisional Emergency Management Teams, ensuring they have the clarity, capability and confidence to respond when it matters most.
A bit about you
If this sounds like the role for you, you will bring significant leadership experience across areas such as crisis and emergency management, cyber resilience, business continuity, disaster management or security risk management. You will have successfully designed and led complex programs, bringing cross-functional teams together around a shared purpose and enabling strong, sustainable outcomes.
You are a thoughtful and inclusive leader who builds trusted relationships, creates clarity in complex situations and supports others to perform at their best. Your advanced communication, negotiation and influencing skills will enable you to engage confidently with executives, Board-level stakeholders and external partners.
You will hold a current security clearance or be able to reactivate or obtain one within the probation period, and you will be comfortable meeting the role’s after-hours on-call requirements.
Application Process
You may find that your experience does not match every requirement listed but, if this role has piqued your interest or resonates with where you are in your career, we encourage you to apply rather than self-select out. We are interested in transferable skills and your skills and perspective could be exactly what we would value to strengthen our team.
