General Assistant, Back of House

We have a 21–24 hour position available within our Back of House team at Ashville College, HG2 9JP.

Hours are Monday –Friday 11-3.30, term-time only. If you are able to start at 8.00am on Fridays, we can offer you an extra 3 hours per week.

This is a busy, high volume role. It involves manual handling and working at pace. You will assist in setting up our Pre-School Dining Hall, lifting and carrying tables & chairs, then join the main Dining Hall’s Back of House team to wash up, clean and clear lunch. You will also support the end-of-day kitchen clean.

£12.71 per hour plus holiday pay, paid in 12 equal monthly amounts, along with a wide range of company benefits.

Lifting and carrying tables and chairs, and assisting in the set up of the pre-School Dining Hall

Working within a team to wash up, clear trays, clean and tidy all back of house areas, including the kitchen

Sweeping, mopping and putting clean equipment away

Completing on-line company training within deadlines

Must reside within easy access of the school. Must have the Right to Work in the UK. Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references.

Some knowledge of working within a catering environment is desirable

Some knowledge of Food Safety/ Health & Safety is desirable
