Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage energy software team building tools for industrial battery storage. You will own core product development across backend services, operator dashboards, and scalable infrastructure, helping improve how distributed energy assets are operated.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build backend services and optimization algorithms for real-time energy asset processing.

• Develop dashboards that help battery operators monitor and control their assets.

• Design and scale cloud infrastructure for distributed battery systems.

• Deploy production optimizations and refine them using real-world feedback.

• Work with cross-functional teammates to define product features and requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Up to five years of professional experience, with graduation in 2023 or later.

• Full-stack familiarity with React and TypeScript, Python, and Tailwind CSS.

• Hands-on experience with energy systems and energy management system controllers.

• Experience in the energy industry and at an early-stage startup.

• Experience deploying optimization solutions in production and a solid understanding of mixed-integer optimization.

• Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or electrical engineering, with a grade better than 2.0.

• Fluent or near-fluent German proficiency.

• A semester abroad at a leading university in the US, UK, or Asia.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Annual base salary: €70,000 to €100,000. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site, five days per week in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
