Account Executive - Operators

Raleigh, United StatesOnsitePosted Oct 23

MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.

In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions adsknews.autodesk.com , the organization unifying Autodesk's operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk's strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.

ABOUT OPERATORS AT MAINTAINX

Machine operators, line workers, and other frontline crews far outnumber maintenance technicians on most plant floors, and they touch the equipment every shift. The MaintainX operator module puts them on the same platform as maintenance.

The Account Executive – Operators will be dedicated to operator sales, helping manufacturers bring their whole frontline workforce onto MaintainX.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Account Executive – Operators, you will own the sales motion for expanding MaintainX to operators, which is an important area of growth and already has meaningful revenue. You will join deals owned by our Account Executives, Account Managers and Account Directors to find the frontline workforce inside each customer, size it, build the business case, and close.

You will work with plant and operations leaders to expand MaintainX across their sites.

You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product and Marketing, and what you hear in the field will shape how we sell and build for operators. This is a “Co-Sell” position, working with MaintainX Sellers and working with the Senior Manager, New Product Sales to build out the Operator sales motion playbook.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the Operators sales motion

  • Run the operator side of deals alongside the account owner: discovery, seat sizing, business case, demos, trials, pricing, and close.
  • Follow up quickly on leads and turn them into qualified pipeline.
  • Partner with Account Managers, Account Directors and CSMs on prospecting to find operator expansion in existing customers, and with AEs to add operators to new deals.

Deeply understand the plant floor

  • Engage plant, operations, EHS and maintenance leaders to learn where opportunities exist to add operators to MaintainX.
  • Map customer use cases to MaintainX, including TPM and autonomous maintenance, pre-use inspections, quality checks, and problem reporting.
  • Quantify impact in downtime and micro-stoppages avoided, scrap and rework reduced, paperwork hours saved, and safety gains.

Run trials and pilots that prove value

  • Structure trials and pilots that prove value fast and set up a broader rollout.
  • Work with Solutions Consultants, CSMs and Implementation to define success criteria, timelines, and rollout plans.
  • Translate trial results into clear business outcomes and ROI for plant and operations leadership.

Tell a differentiated story

  • Deliver tailored demos and executive presentations that show operators and maintenance working in one system.
  • Position MaintainX against paper, standalone checklist apps and other vendors.
  • Share field feedback and competitive insights with Product and Marketing to sharpen messaging and inform the operator roadmap.
  • Pre-Read - recommendation to read “TPM For Executives and Managers amazon.com : A Leadership Guide to Total Productive Maintenance and the JIPM Excellence Framework”

Operate with excellence

  • Keep operator opportunities and forecasts clean and current in Salesforce.
  • Hand off cleanly to Implementation and Customer Success so operators are live soon after the deal closes.
  • Help shape the Operators sales playbook: coach account teams on operator discovery, pricing and objection handling, and bring what works back to sales enablement.

ABOUT YOU

  • 3+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, including selling into manufacturing, logistics, food & beverage or other asset-intensive environments.
  • Hustle mentality - “If you lose a day, you lost a week. If you lose a week you lost the month. If you lose a month, you lost the quarter.”
  • A track record of beating quota, ideally including expansion deals in existing accounts.
  • Strong value selling and discovery skills, especially sizing a frontline workforce and building an ROI case around downtime, quality, labor and safety.
  • Comfortable as an overlay: you join deals other sellers own, add value from the first call, and help the MaintainX sales team win.
  • Clear, confident presenter to plant managers and operations executives, comfortable running a live demo on a phone.
  • Highly organized, with strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline.
  • You like building something new: testing plays, keeping what works, and helping write the playbook as it takes shape.

Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
