Dating back to the mid-19th century, this former hotel and coaching inn has built a reputation for quality food, expertly kept cask ales, craft beers, and warm Scottish hospitality.

Welcoming a diverse mix of local residents, office workers, tourists, sports fans, and group bookings, The Beehive offers something for everyone. From traditional pub classics and a bustling beer garden to live sport and private functions, we are proud to be a landmark destination in Edinburgh's Old Town.

We are seeking an inspirational and commercially driven General Manager to lead our team and continue The Beehive's legacy as one of Edinburgh's favourite pubs.

As General Manager, you will take full ownership of The Beehive's operational and financial performance. You will lead a passionate team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and drive sales through outstanding food, drink, sport, events, and community engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys balancing the demands of a popular tourist destination with the expectations of a loyal local customer base. You'll lead a fantastic team, drive the business forward, and ensure every guest leaves wanting to come back.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves being on the floor, getting to know customers, supporting their team, and taking pride in running an exceptional pub.

What you'll do as a General Manager...

• Work with your business development manager and management team to grow pub sales.

• Lead by example in everything you do and bring our brand to life through your team in delivering amazing experiences for our customers.

• You will recruit & develop your team to ensure they have the knowledge needed to delight our customers.

• Be a champion of brand standards & ensure customer & team safety at all times.

• Please be aware that if you are successful in this role you will need to either already have, or be able to acquire a personal license.

• You’ll be business savvy, with a keen eye for P&L control.

• Previous success at General Manager level is desirable; from a hospitality, retail or other fast paced background, and the right attitude and outlook is essential!

• You're keen to learn and happiest when you succeed at something new.

• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.
