Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage B2B software team as its first engineering hire. You will own core systems for an agentic integration platform serving enterprise customers and help establish the technical foundations for future growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and operate the agent platform, infrastructure, and integrations runtime end to end.

• Set engineering practices and technical patterns that support a growing team.

• Work closely with the founding team, contributing technical opinions and leadership.

• Ship production improvements regularly, with a focus on reliability and observability.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Three or more years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems, ideally in fast-paced startups.

• Experience building a product or system from zero to one, through a startup or a substantial side project.

• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Node.js for full-stack development.

• Experience building or integrating workflows involving large language models and agent-based platforms.

• Hands-on experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, and database design.

• Experience owning features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure, with measurable customer impact.

• Experience with production observability, monitoring, tracing, and dependable retry and queuing patterns in distributed systems.

• A computer science or engineering undergraduate degree and a strong record of technical achievement.

• Prior experience as an early startup employee or founder, with the ability to help shape engineering standards.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $150,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site in San Francisco, California. Candidates based elsewhere in the United States should have a concrete, dated plan to relocate to San Francisco.
