Education Counsellor Study Abroad 2+ Years Experience

We are looking for Education Counsellor to join the pioneer team of a leading international education group as it opens its first branch in Kuala Lumpur.

This role is suitable for candidates with around 2 years of sales or consulting experience at a study abroad agency. You will help Malaysian students apply to universities overseas, mainly in the UK, Australia and other Commonwealth countries, and play a key part in building the local business from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inquiries from students and parents
• Provide consultation on overseas study options, destinations and application pathways
• Follow up on leads and convert them into signed clients
• Manage service contract signing and collect client application documents
• Check documents for accuracy and completeness before handover to the documentation team
• Keep clients updated throughout the application process and maintain long-term relationships
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets

Requirements

• Around 2 years of sales or consulting experience at a study abroad agency
• Experience sending students overseas (e.g. UK, Australia) is required
• Proven sales track record and comfortable working with targets
• Able to communicate in Mandarin (spoken) for daily work with the management team
• English or Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
• Good communication, follow-up and negotiation skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Education, Marketing, English or a related field

Nice to Have

• Existing network with local schools, colleges or education channels
• Experience with UK, Australia, New Zealand or Canada university applications
• Exposure to education fairs, school talks or channel partnerships
