Senior Android Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a product-focused team at a Series A fintech company to build and scale a consumer Android app for personal finance. You will work with product, engineering, and business partners to deliver useful experiences and contribute to product direction.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, build, and maintain the Android application.

• Help build and improve the underlying mobile platform.

• Solve product and engineering problems with a pragmatic approach.

• Contribute to product design and technical direction.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with partner teams.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 5 years of mobile app development experience, including 2 or more years building and shipping production Android apps.

• Strong Kotlin skills, with hands-on experience in Jetpack Compose and MVVM or Clean Architecture.

• Experience building consumer-facing mobile applications and working in a startup environment for at least 3 years.

• Proficiency with protobufs, REST, and gRPC, and experience integrating Firebase Authentication, Firestore or Realtime Database, and Cloud Messaging.

• Experience with Android unit, instrumentation, and UI testing, as well as mobile CI/CD pipelines.

• Mentorship or technical leadership experience guiding junior engineers.

• Strong academic background and experience with Android platform architecture are valued.

• Experience in data-intensive environments or distributed systems is useful.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site in San Francisco, California. Candidates must be based in San Francisco or Seattle.
